Electional Charts
An electional chart tells you the most prospicious time to initiate your project. The interpretations in the datebook provide an understanding of the astrological weather for a given day. This is a start, but more may be required. An astrologer can pick the most propitious time on any particular day. This is called an electional chart. It is a planetary picture of the client's vision frozen in time. Within this moment are seen the challenges and opportunities the individual will face during the quest for success.

Situation: Jack is a bestselling author of mystery books. He is under contract with a major publishing house. Jack crossed over from mysteries to adventure and wrote an action book. He presented it to his editor who rejected it, requesting numerous rewrites. Jack tried to please the editor, but each revision was rejected, demoralizing Jack and throwing him into financial chaos. When the manuscript was released for sale to another publishing house, Jack wanted to sell the story as quickly as possible.

The Electional Chart: The time of this chart was late morning on 4/14/99. I asked Jack mail the manuscript at the appointed time. The goal is to sell the book. To do this, we must show several things:
  1. that the book is a good one
  2. that the publisher likes it
  3. that the author receives money for the sale
Outcome: The book sold in ten days with a three book contract for a large sum of money. The sale also established Jack as a multifaceted writer, capable of more than one style of writing.
All major credit cards accepted.

Chart interpretation for astrology students:
One of the easiest ways to show that the book is a good one is to make the ruler of the 3rd house (written material) an exalted planet. In the chart, the ruler of the 3rd house cusp is Leo ruled by the Sun. The Sun is exalted in Aries, elevated in the chart, accidentally dignified by being angular, and placed in the 10th house of success. The publisher will like the book because Jupiter, the natural ruler of publishers, is in the 10th, widely conjunct the Sun. Uranus, ruler of the 9th house of publishers, is also widely sextile the Sun. The Moon will translate (or carry) the light of Jupiter and Uranus to the Sun, completing those aspects despite the wide orbs. Money matters are shown in the 2nd and 8th houses. The 2nd house cusp is Leo, ruled by the exalted Sun. The activity Moon, Jack's ruler (co-ruler of the person initiating the election) will move to conjunct the Sun, bringing Jack together with the money for an advance on his book. Uranus in the 8th will also be sextiled by the Moon.
