| TRENDS FOR THE YEAR 2004 |
| Venus retrograde in Gemini: In May and June 2004, Venus
will be retrograde in the sign of Gemini. She will also be outside of the Sun's
ecliptic path at that time or "out of bounds" as we astrologers say. This is a
good time to review relationships and values, see where we are, and where we
have stepped out of line or forgotten what is important. If we learn to think
outside of the box, we can prepare for a better style of relating, one that
values each relationship and abhors hate crimes, warped values, degradation of
women, discrimination, and financial injustice. With Venus in Gemini, we can
develop programs to educate children and reeducate adults young and old to
focus on fostering creativity rather than competitiveness, beauty rather than
artificial class distinctions, love rather than jealousy. Venus emphasizes
individual, personal relationships, but heralds Jupiter's entrance into Libra
in the early fall when we will be called to look at the way we relate on a
social, national, or global scale. Jupiter in Virgo and Libra: Jupiter entered Virgo in 2003 where it is poorly placed and continues there into the Summer of 2004. Virgo is a very practical, common sense sign that is associated with work, daily habits, and health. Since Jupiter is the natural ruler of expansion and wastefulness, we started to see the job market increase along with our waistlines. Obesity is now a national epidemic. We also learned that there is a high cost for rebuilding a country you bombed into rubble with a "shock and awe" campaign. As Jupiter enters Libra in the Fall 2004, the focus will be on all forms of partnerships and justice. Same sex marriage legislation will be discussed and rights for committed relationships may be enacted. The "Patriot Act" and unlawful detention should be a hot topic in the next presidential election. Are we really free if any one of us could be jailed indefinitely without due process? Uranus enters Pisces: While Uranus is in Pisces over the next seven years individualized, personal spirituality and mysticism will be on the rise. Even the faithful will be discerning, becoming less inclined to be led blindly. Religious freedom will come to also mean independent thinking. We will be called to trust our own experience over what we are told to believe. Experiential forms of spirituality, such as service, meditation, prayer, and retreat will gain importance. It is not what we espouse, but when we act in kindness and with compassion that we truly reflect the God/Goddess. Saturn enters Cancer: We are overfed and under nourished. Many diseases are being linked to eating habits and agricultural processes which leave our soil and food supply depleted and toxic. Interest in organic foods and supplementation will continue to grow. Nationally and globally, we need to nurture others and address hunger, poverty, and inadequate medical services. Apathy or an unwillingness to respond will eventually effect us negatively. |

| January 2003 | Thursday 23rd | Libra Moon - final aspect
trine Uranus Good day. Matters end well, but your thinking is slowed down and you tend to be indecisive. It seems that your project moves at a snail's pace as the information you need only trickles in. Those you depend on might change their minds mid-stream. Nothing is clear cut while things are in flux, so let the dust settle a bit. To succeed in the end, blend tradition with modern concepts and techniques. You will find that the new and old work well together. See note 1. On-going: Get the old guard together with the innovators. Spiritual thought: Balance is the key. |
| Saturday 25th | Scorpio Moon - square
Uranus Challenging day. Relationships can be a pressure cooker until one person walks out. A woman may be smothered through financial control. Women, in general, do not have a great deal of freedom at this time. Money does not flow either because of real and needed budgetary restraints, or because of artificially imposed restrictions meant to manipulate. If you are the controlling person, be forewarned, this will not work. What you are attempting to do is unethical and possibly illegal. If you are the person being controlled, situations will not improve until there is a break in your tie with the overbearing individual. There is little to sustain this relationship anyway, so don't put up with this treatment. On-going: Practice what you preach. Spiritual thought: "We will control the horizontal; we will control the vertical." |

Uranus Challenging day. The problems you run into all have to do with modernization. If you are trying to be too conservative or traditional, you are not making the necessary adjustments to something more up-to-date. The other scenario is that modern techniques and gadgets are just not working out for you. Either way, the new and the old clash. Blending is not an option. You feel like a square peg in a round hole. Events are too cut and dried for your taste. There is no comfort and relaxation. This looks like Private Benjamin signing up for a spa army. What was she thinking? Vacations begun on this day might not meet your expectations. Travel companions create chaos. They do not get with the program to de-stress and rest. On-going: Correct electrical problems. Spiritual thought: Remain true to yourself. |
| Monday 10th | Gemini Moon - trine Uranus Good day for long-term projects that require a lot of preparation, but are then over quickly, like the Academy Awards. Well, maybe not the Academy Awards. They do seem to go on forever. If you get a lot of flak from other people, you might decide to complete the project on your own. Powerful people can oppose you and what you are trying to do. The best way to get through is to stay the course. Refuse to budge, and boycott if necessary. Commit to the long haul and speak your truth. Eventually someone in authority will support you. You come highly qualified for your job, but you do not know all that you need to know. It is best to ask around and get the information you need before you proceed with any changes. | Wednesday 12th | Cancer Moon - trine Sun Good day. An important person helps you to succeed even though his or her hands are really tied. There is a limit to what s/he can do, but fortunately your needs in regard to success fall within that limit, so s/he can help you. The support you receive might be financial, but not necessarily. What you are attempting to do might be very new and untried. Because your plans have no history, someone with a big name and clout might object. You need to negotiate with this person or make modifications to meet zoning laws or some other government regulations. Once you meet these criteria, success is yours. Be prepared to work hard! On-going: Learn from others' mistakes. Spiritual thought: Stay on the straight and narrow. |

Venus) Challenging day, unless you wish to drop all or part of your project when important people fall out of favor or leave the scene. Matters also grow expensive. You stay in this too long and delays lead to cost overruns. Time is money. You are better off getting out when everyone else leaves. When things go downhill quickly and people jump ship, that's your cue to jump, too. On-going: Get rid of those things that are in poor taste. Spiritual thought: It is not enough to look good. |

Your partner is well connected and you benefit indirectly from his or her connections and resources. Your partner is also well off financially. Even though it is not your money, you still have access. Your partner is very generous and willing to share. It is important that you not be wasteful. People are watching. Friday 16th | Sagittarius Moon - opposition
Saturn Challenging day. Things run along smoothly in the beginning. You get the help that you need and everything just falls into place. Then maybe you misstep or something comes to light. At that point complications arise and your plans are in serious trouble. There was once a little boy who had a wild bird feather collection that he had gathered over the years from feathers dropped by birds in his back yard. He decided to display it at a science fair in his elementary school. What he did not know was that the possession of wild bird feathers is illegal even if you find them on the ground. A wildlife fanatic at the fair reported the boy to the authorities and his feathers were confiscated. On this day, something you do not expect, but is a real problem, is revealed and scuttles your plans. Financial losses are also possible. Manipulations backfire on you. Making a stand will not help, either. Like the air traffic controllers, you can be fired. On-going: Assess the integrity of your project. Spiritual thought: What goes around, comes around. |
| Sunday 25th | Aries Moon - sextile Saturn Good day, for males, but not so hot for females. Males are favored and seem to have the edge. Along this line, assertive, ambitious, and even forceful tactics work better than negotiation, compromise, or a fear of disharmony. You got to rock the boat to get anywhere. In a competitive environment, masculine, active personality traits have an advantage over feminine, passive characteristics. The scenario consistent with this time is when the first few women entered military college. The male tradition was maintained! The name of the game is power. You might not have to fight for what you want, but you do have to be persistent and hold your ground. On-going: Pull it all together. Spiritual thought: Use the right tool for the right job. |

Tuesday 17th | Aquarius Moon - contra-parallel Jupiter Good day. Be communal. Gather the support and cooperation of many and start a movement. One generous person who hangs back will get on the bandwagon eventually or someone else will come along to fill those shoes. Do not be concerned if someone turns you down. Just keep going and generate momentum. The more good-hearted you are, the more likely you are to succeed. On-going: Ask for a favor. Spiritual thought: Being a good person is enough. |
| Thursday 19th | Pisces Moon - square Sun Challenging day. You tend to be unrealistic. You are in your own little world and it may be a great place, but then you have to deal with someone who is very rational or intelligent. Whatever you are saying, doing or feeling will not make sense to this person. It might work for you, but it is not working for anyone else, especially those who are disabled on the inner, more intuitive planes. There is an ideological disagreement here. People like you, but they do not understand you and are unhappy with what you are doing. At this time, vision and inspiration will not win out over rational analysis. Because there is no meeting of the minds, you are less likely to succeed. On-going: Make a decision. Spiritual thought: Life is more magical than you realize. |

Sunday 6th | Libra Moon - sextile Jupiter Good day, but you might have to function under great limitation and hardship without the approval or support of superiors. Working conditions can be particularly tough. You can learn from an older person, but the lessons may not be easy ones. A mentor tends to be gruff and cantankerous. You can make the best of it and learn how to deal with this person. By facing adversity and persevering, you could come out on top. Your success might be built on an idea that you have. There is a stroke of genius in this that you either find or realize. It might exist in the people that you are with, or it can be that you, yourself, are that innovative and creative. Give it all you've got and take drastic steps to improve your circumstances. On-going: Learn to accept favors. Spiritual thought: You can overcome. |
| Monday 14th | Aquarius Moon - parallel Neptune
retrograde Good day to create the illusion of wealth without spending more than you have to (though you still spend a lot!) The illusion may hold up longer and better than expected. Beliefs or ethics are being tested as you become aware of what others think. Matters of faith are important. Others point out to you where you do not practice what you preach. Be consistent and get your act together. The best approach is to change your beliefs or act in a manner that conforms to what you espouse, but it is more likely that you weave a better illusion of sanctity and goodness. Some will really improve, but others will choose to put on a better show. Be realistic with finances or someone will point out to you where you are being wasteful. See note 3. | August 2003 | Sunday 3rd | Libra Moon - contra-parallel Mercury Good day, but it takes time for things to mature. Long-term projects involving a lot of mental, detailed work or communication are suited to this day. For example, if you want to put together a reference book, you must gather information. It also helps to have a "behind the scenes" ghost writer or source. You can be successful, especially if you start out with the understanding that this will be a drawn-out process. Matters take longer than expected. Having a job or daily work to take care of impedes your sideline project. Superiors might not believe in what you are attempting to do. They will with time, but you have to prove yourself and fulfill requirements before you can move ahead. See note 5. On-going: Get technical help from a smart person. Spiritual thought: We will overcome. |

conjunction Jupiter Challenging day unless you wish to drop all or part of your project when a benefactor leaves the scene or is disgraced. He or she may no longer have the power to help you. This is the big deal behind door number 2 that got away. If you are counting on a generous person to help you, that person either reneges on a promise or misleads you from the beginning. Misunderstandings have disastrous consequences because inflated expectations are not met. A pie in the sky cannot fly and comes crashing to earth. See note 5. On-going: Try a temporary fix. Spiritual thought: Do not be unrealistic. |
| September 2003 | Tuesday 9th | Pisces Moon - contra-parallel Sun Neutral day. People are not thrilled with what you are doing or saying and a real disagreement arises. Others might see you as a little flaky. You opponent is a very rational person focused on facts and figures. It becomes his or her task to convince you of the truth as he or she sees it. Idealogies clash and there is a power struggle of sorts. Eventually you find common ground, though you never really agree. If you are trying to do something charitable, make sure your motives are pure. Others will be able to ascertain your true motivation. See notes 1, 5. On-going: Set aside time to listen. Spiritual thought: Don't stoop to sacrificing your main intention. |

trine Venus square return Uran retrograde Challenging day unless you wish to drop all or part of your project when something that is agreed to in the beginning becomes objectionable in the end. Boy, is this a surprise! You thought the deal and the funding were in the bag. Suddenly, it is out of your reach. Investors greatly reduce the amount of money they intend to give you or decide you are a poor risk altogether. They make this change based on information provide by someone who seemed to back you at the outset, but then showed his or her true colors later on. Added to this scenario is the possibility that you, yourself, decide to drop this whole matter. When things are not working out the way you planned and you begin to see trouble on the horizon, you could withdraw from your own project. This is actually a good move since you can go on to something better. Later the original project folds. See notes 1, 3, 5. On-going: Think ahead. | October 2003 | Tuesday 21st | Virgo Moon - parallel Jupiter Good day. Your partner might be fogged in and not clear about what s/he wants or should do. S/he is a great supporter, though, and lends assistance to you without understanding that it is not kosher. The help gets you past a major complication by covering for an important person who is missing. You have protection because someone extends him or herself more than s/he should. If you have a vision of what a relationship can be, this is your time to act on that vision and move forward. On-going: Ask for favors. Spiritual thought: Your spirituality can help you through a difficult time. |
| Saturday 25th | Scorpio Moon - square Uranus
retrograde Challenging day. There is a lot of supportive activity going on and many people help you. Even the local community gets involved. The only negative is that things do not turn out like you expected. There is a problem in the end and it might rain on your parade. Be prepared with contingency plans and alternatives in case something goes wrong. The authorities make an exception for you and look the other way if your event has a charitable purpose. Perhaps outdoor events are not permitted in the park, but allowances are made for this one time. Though government and authorities are cooperative, problems come from a different, totally unexpected direction. Cope as best you can and focus on the comaraderie developing and the little successes that occur along the way. See note 3. On-going: Work at home. | November 2003 | Wednesday 5th | Aries Moon - contra-parallel Mars Good day. You can get hung up with delays early on, but you are able to succeed and get past any restrictions. Adjustments need to be made to satisfy criteria. Make sure you come in line with what is expected. Do your own thing to succeed or hire an expert who is very similar to you. This copycat person believes in your project and helps you move forward quickly. Do not get sidelined by guilt or family responsibilities. Stay focused, persistent, and determined. Organization is everything. Streamline, regroup and get it all together. On-going: Push onward. Spiritual thought: It's my way or the highway. |
| Sunday 16th | Leo Moon - opposition Uranus Challenging day because the boss disapproves of or abandons your project. You are acting on his/her authority and things seem to be going well. The project is funded and you get help from others. When you give a progress report, at first the boss is pleased. But then, without any new developments, the boss changes his/her mind. The demise of your project has nothing to do with you or the quality of your work. It can be attributed to outside forces beyond your control. If you are your own boss, the same influences apply. It becomes difficult to sustain the quality of work you normally put out. You must give up too much to continue, and so let the project go for now. On-going: Reward brilliance. | December 2003 | Monday 8th | Gemini Moon - trine Uranus Neutral day. You can be successful, but you meet a lot of obstacles along the way. You are trying to appease a number of people and the only way to handle the situation is to completely detach from all the complaints and problems. You can please some of the people all of the time or all of the people some of the time. You will get overwhelmed if you try to please all of the people all of the time. Shut out the noise so you can think. Make a major shift and do it your way. Listen to the beat of a different drum, respect authority, but tell the peer-level whiners, "Back off, buckos! Perhaps the word does not get out to interested parties that your project has merit and value. The advertising budget is limited or you decide it is not in your best interests to fully broadcast your activities. On the other hand, you might not be able to get the facts straight yourself. Information coming in tends to be old and outdated. If you compete with other companies in the marketplace, you may discover that the competition has a better product or system. They are way ahead of you regarding innovation and modern techniques. You are left wondering, "How did they do that?" On-going: Keep an eye on the competition.
